Registration Policy: Registration Capacity is 1,000 entries. Entry fees are non-refundable. Entries can be deferred to 2010 through June 30, 2009 with prior written approval from the race director. A $30 deferral fee applies at the time of registration for the 2010 event. Race management reserves the right to cancel or modify the event due to unfavorable conditions. Race management also reserves the right to accept or reject all entry forms. Host Hotel: The Sheraton Sand Key Resort will be serving as the official hotel for the Morton Plant Mease Triathlon. They are offering a discounted rate of $159.00 / night plus tax and are located adjacent to the race venue. USAT: All athletes must present photo i.d. at packet pick up. You will be required to purchase a one day license ($10) if you are not an annual USAT member. ***All relay team members must be present, at the same time, to pick up your packet.
***Parking: To Ensure that everyone can park at Sand Key Park, please carpool if you are planning to attend with others competing. The City of Clearwater will not be charging for parking until 11am race morning. If you plan to stay after awards, you will have to pay the parking meter or will be subject to a parking ticket. There will be no entry into the park after 6:30am. You will not be able to exit the park until the race course is clear of runners. This is expected to be at 9:45am.
Bike Course: Roads are not closed. Police will be controlling traffic at all major intersections and cross streets but be aware that motorists may be on the streets as well. Please remember to ride to the right and pass on the left. At all intersections that have police stationed, cyclists will be given the right of way but be cautious. The bike course will be marked with Blue chalk paint on the road with multiple directional arrows leading up to every turn. Just follow the paint on the road.
All proceeds to benefit Morton Plant Mease Health Care, an integrated not-for-profit health care system which includes four hospitals in the Pinellas and Pasco counties of Florida and serves over 1 million people.
2008 To 2009 Deferrals: For all those that did not choose to transfer their entry to the 2008 Sand Key Triathlon, Tarpon Springs Triathlon, or Athletes for a Cure Triathlon: We will be issuing discount codes to allow your registration at the discounted rate of $40 for the 2009 event.

If you elected to transfer your entry to one of the races mentioned above, you are not eligible for a discounted entry.

The discount registration codes will be finalized the week of December 15th and will then be sent out to each of you via e-mail.

Online registration will open on January second and you will have until January 31st to secure your entry to the 2009 event.

General registration will also open for on January 2nd at 9am EST.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the cancellation but we had no choice given the weather conditions on race morning. Our first priority is the safety of the athletes.
