Morton Plant Mease Foundation

It took an entire community to make our 1st Century a success. As a hospital that to this day still belongs fully to its community, our doors will continue to be open to everyone. The progress that has been realized within the hospitals of Morton Plant Mease Health Care has been achieved through your generosity - friends of the Foundation partnering to help improve the health of our community. We are proud to announce the Morton Plant Mease 2nd Century Campaign has raised over $60 million towards our unprecedented goal of $100 million by 2012.

Many services on the ground and basement floors of the hospital are complete, such as the elevators, sterile supply department, loading dock and histology.  A new kitchen and cafeteria, education meeting rooms, pharmacy, endoscopy and respiratory therapy are scheduled to open this spring.

The signature project, Morton Plant's new Morgan Heart Hospital named by the Morgan family, which opened in November 2006, brings new technology to advance direct patient care.  The new Morgan Heart Hospital includes four new computerized, voice-activated open heart surgery rooms, four cardiac catheterization labs, 21 critical cardiac patient rooms and dedicated waiting areas.  Digital technology is a primary feature of the new Morgan Heart Hospital.

Morton Plant has been providing comprehensive heart and vascular services for the past thirty years.  The largest number of open-heart surgeries in Pinellas County are performed at Morton Plant by a team of board-certified cardiac surgeons.
