What is a Charitable Gift Annuity?
A charitable gift annuity (CGA) is an irrevocable commitment to Morton Plant Mease Foundation, and is a general obligation to the Foundation - backed by all our assets. A donor transfers money, stock or property to Morton Plant Mease Foundation and received a guaranteed fixed income for one or two lives, to start either immediately or at a later date chosen by the donor.
 
The combination of partially tax-free income and the initial charitable deduction makes this arrangement quite attractive. The minimum gift to set-up a charitable gift annuity is $10,000.
