As I gear up for my third year representing each of you in this wonderful campaign, I reflect on how it was a tremendous privilege to report last year that our team members, volunteers and physicians came together to help set a campaign record by raising more than $395,000! Breaking the all-time Caring for Our Community Campaign record speaks loud and clear about our values and your desire to make a difference.

However, I am not satisfied with just resting on the laurels of last year’s success. Please consider joining me once again as we build on our momentum to continue helping our hospitals, team members and community. You can choose to create a safety net for team members in need through the Family Care Fund; provide support to our Foundation, which funds nursing scholarships, new technology for our hospitals and programs for our patients; or build a healthier and stronger community through United Way.

The Caring for Our Community Campaign runs from August 9 to September 17 with this year’s theme being, “From Our Hands to Your Hearts,” which was the winner of the inaugural theme name contest by Kristi Decker from Morton Plant Admitting. The theme speaks to the opportunity that rests in your hands to impact our community and touch the lives of your fellow team members in need. In coordination with the theme, all team members who make a donation will receive a special “From Our Hands to Your Hearts” hand sanitizer bottle as a thank you.

As even further incentive, Morton Plant Mease will again match every dollar that is made to the Family Care Fund. In today’s economy, more people are in need and this fund is extremely important to our team members who find themselves in unexpected emergencies.

I am honored to work with so many people who are making such a positive impact on the health of our community by lending a helping hand.
